Narrative/Bio
Linda Evans (AKA) Copper Rose
Born and raised in Washington DC,
studied with various
vocal Coaches and musicians
throughout DC.
Actress and singer , she has twenty
years experience
traveling the states Touring with Pin
Points Theater Company
an educational theater company.
Copper has been seen as
an Actress in productions such as,
Amens Corner, Greens,
Passage to the Civil Rights
Movement, Bourbon Street and
Americas Most Wanted to name a
few.
Copper Rose has been singing and
captivating audiences
from the age of 4 from the Capital
center, CONSTITUTION hall
To Carnegie Hall and more. As a
singer she has opened up
shows for Run DMC, WAR, NEW
EDITION, SHANNON, THE
FUNKADELIC, YOLANDA ADAMS and
currently VOCALS FOR DC
internationally known HIT ARTIST
Tabi Bonney on his new
CD as well as samples of the copper
rose album appearing on
The new album by DC artist Johnny
Luger wait until you get
a load of me of the hit single
weekend girl. Currently
she has helped create a sound of
neo soul , jazz , funk , r&b
and alternative music all wrapped
up like one big pot of
Gumbo mmm! GOOD . Copper Rose
& Bone ,have played for, Jim
Brown Harry Bellafonte, Mayor Barry
of DC , as well as a host
of community service organizations
ie. Cease Fire Don't
Smoke the Brothers and Sisters,
Parent Watch, ROOT, DC Rape
Crisis Center, and is currently
Assistant Director for the Brookland
Manor Community Theater & Music
Studio.
She is now on the way to releasing
her second CD, Copper Rose & Bone
( remedy)
James Anthony ( aka Bone and
JBass) a DC native since
the age of 7 graduated from dc
public schools and attended
DC Teachers College (now UDC)
with an art major . James
studied under renown artists
Mannon Cleary and Louise
Roberts. James' love for the arts
has taken him on many
journeys. He is a Published visual
artist with Things
Graphics and Fine Arts (publishers
of black art) with works
sold all over the country, he is a
music producer and
musician having performed across
the country with the DC
Black Rock Group Black Ant
opening for Talib Kweli, Mos Def,
Pharaoh Monch and David banner
as well as performing for
Erica Badu at her after party along
with Asheru and Tabi
Bonney on stage.
Film, edit and documentaries by
James include the 3rd
Annual Ex-Prisoners Family Benefit
by Cease Fire Don't Smoke
the Brothers and Sisters, Pin Points
Theater 1001 Black
Inventions at Galludette University
deaf and Hearing Actors
together, Kiamsha Youth
Empowerment Org. Pathway to
Freedom performance and recently
including a Journey
from Within about the journey of
The PowellHouse Project 's
youth participants experience
traveling from DC to Senegal
and Morocco West Africa. These
youth were also honored
with the opportunity to perform at
the 92nd ASALAH
Conference in Charlotte NC. James
is currently Director of the
Brookland Manor Theater Music
Studio Youth Program t which is an
educational and artistic program for
at risk youth in the DC area.
Since the formation, the group
Copper Rose and Bone the act
has performed countless concerts
with music about uplifting the
appreciation of all
Women, Black Mens hope and
integrity, Peace over War, Gun
Violence and the need to stop it,
Family Love and the need to
have more of it, Our History and the
need to know more
about it.
The Group was Nominated for the
Mayor's Art Awards in 2009 and
Receive Men of Mark &Women
Builders Outstanding Leadership
Award presented by 2 time World
Boxing Champion Keith Holmes from
Cease Fire Don't The Brothers &
Sisters 2010.
The dream of Copper Rose & Bone is
